Description

Simikot Kailash Tour is an excellent journey which combines the sense of adventure and essence of spirituality. This trek offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of both Nepalese and Tibetan landscapes. Diverse climate, vegetation and landscape, and the firsthand experience of the richness of Hinduism and Buddhism are what make Simikot Kailash Tour special.

Simikot Kailash Tour starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. After exploring some of the spiritual centers of Kathmandu—Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Swayambhunath—you take a scenic flight to Nepalgunj, a border city in the southern plains of western Nepal. A consecutive flight from Nepalgunj takes you to the beautiful district headquarter of Humla, that is, Simikot. The trek begins from Simikot and takes you through trails of remote western Nepal. Trekking alongside Karnali River, you pass through traditional villages, farmlands, pine trees, and many ancient monasteries to arrive at the Tibetan border. After entering Tibet, you get to enjoy the barren yet beautiful landscape as you make your way towards the holy Mount Kailash (6714m) via the sacred lake of Mansarovar. Upon completion of the 3-day Kora via different ancient monasteries and the high pass of Dolma La (560m), you drive to the sacred Mansarovar Lake where you can take a bath as it is believed to cleanse off your sins. En route, you will be sightseeing at Tirthapuri and exploring Garuda Valley. You can see many Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims during this trek as Mount Kailash (6714m) is a holy mountain for both Hindus and Buddhists. The latter part of the trek takes you to the Tibetan towns like Shigatse and Lhasa that allow you to observe the Buddhist culture dominating the cultural spectrum of Tibet. You also get to explore the Dhungkar Choezom Monastery, Dira Puk Monastery, Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, and several other monasteries during this holy trip.
