Traversing the inner depths of the Annapurna, the Khopra Ridge Trek is remarkable in its integration of natural and cultural aspects of the region. While trekking involves panting and puffing, this trek is also magnificent when considering the display of the astounding Annapurna Himalayas. Catering to the needs of adventure-thirsty individuals and ones desiring solitude on the walk instead of the crowded Annapurna Base Camp Trek, the Khopra trek offers off-beaten trails and rich bio-diversity on those routes.
The Khopra trek begins with a road trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the tourist hub of the nation. You can also enjoy a scenic flight to the city which sports the aerial views of the landscapes on offer. From Pokhara, a short drive will take you to Phedi where the trek to Ghandruk begins. Through the serene forested trail, the trek reaches Ghandruk, a Gurung village offering a showdown of the Himalayas in Annapurna region and brilliant Gurung culture. From Ghandruk, the Khopra trek continues on to Tadapani and follows with a pleasant walk to Bayeli Kharka. Walking through the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trek introduces the travelers to a myriad of flora and fauna on the way. Next on the trek is Chistibang followed by Khopra Ridge. An additional day is spent at the Khopra Ridge and the day involves excursion to the Khayer Lake. The lake, amid the mountains and lush hills, reflects the grand design of the natural wonder upon its tranquil water surface. Also on the exploration are various other remarkable sites in the locale. After having your fill of relishing the natural wonders, the trek descends along Swanta village and reaches Ulleri. From Ulleri, a pleasant trek will lead to Nayapul where a vehicle awaits your arrival. A short drive to Pokhara is followed by a longer on to Kathmandu marking the end of the trek.
