Jugal Himal Trek is the less explored and peaceful trek which offers you the stunning Himalayas such as Dorje Lakpa (6866m), Gaurishankar (7134m) and Langtang Ranges. This trek takes you to picturesque villages, green lush forests, beautiful high altitude sacred lakes and great hospitality of Tamang and Sherpa people. You can experience a beautiful hilly landscape with a mixed culture of people living in this region.

This 13 days trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Chautara and the walk starts from Syaule. This trek is both Camping as well as Tea-house trek. This Jugal Himal Trek will be perfect for those who want to walk in the silent nature while enjoying the views for from the usual hustle and bustle. This trek takes you through amazing places like Kami Kharka, Chyochyo Danda, and Hile Bhanjyang towards Panch Pokhari. Panch Pokhari is the collective name given for the five beautiful glacial lakes situated in the higher altitude. It is a sacred lake for both Hindu and Buddhist and mainly in Janai Purnima when lots of people visit this lake. While trekking, you will find many Sherpa and Tamang villages. Between the high Himalayas, there are remote traditional Tamang villages where you will learn a lot about ancient culture and tradition of Tamang people. The warm hospitality provided by these people makes you feel as if you are a part of their family. You will get a view of Tibetan monasteries along with the Lamas on the way towards Bakhang Gompa. Passing through the pine, fir and rhododendron forests, Jugal Himal Trek reflects a part of great biological diversity in Nepal. With such diversified flora, fauna, and landscape, this trek takes you away from the bustling city of Kathmandu allowing you to fully enjoy nature. Appreciating the incredible masterpiece of nature will not be enough in 12 days but it can be enough to get a taste of the geographical diversity of Nepal.

Important Note: Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Epic Adventures. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1300m

After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of the representatives will come to pick you up and escort you to the hotel. Have a pleasant rest after such a long tiring flight

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Chautara|1,418 M|5/6hrs and trek to Syaule |1,600 M|2/3 hrs

On this day, we will drive from Kathmandu to Chautara through Barabise. Along the way, you can view the amazing landscape, typical Nepali lifestyle and beautiful birds with soothing chirping. After about 6 hours of scenic drive, you will arrive in Chautara which is a beautiful Tamang village. From here, you will meet the other staffs and trek to Syaule begins as we pass by villages like Gaurati and Ghunsa. Overnight in Chautara.

Day 3: Trek from Syaule to Kami Kharka Danda |2,985 M|, 5/6 hrs

Making an early start, your destination is Kami Kharka Danda from Syaule. We will pass through beautiful villages like Sano Okhreni, Ratnaule with beautiful landscapes. Continuing through the scenic villages with few ups and downs we will arrive at Kami Kharka Danda. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 4: Trek from Kami Kharka Danda to Chyochyo Danda |3,440 M|, 5/6 hrs

Leaving Kami Kharka Danda, we will ascend towards Chyochyo Danda. We walk through rhododendron forest for about 5 hours to reach Chyochyo Danda. You will have the best views of the Himalayas in the background and on reaching Chyochyo Danda, we will set a camp there.

Day 5: Trek from Chyochyo Danda to Hile Bhanjyang |3,720 M|, 6/7 hrs

On this day, we will walk forward towards Hile Bhanjyang passing through serene oak forests. As we continue to walk up and down the forest, the trail follows the ridge crest to a large Chorten. From here, continuing the trail we will arrive in Hile Bhanjyang. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 6: Acclimatize, rest and exploring day around Hile Bhanjyang |3,720 M|

Today is for acclimatization which is meant to allow trekker’s body get used to the high altitude of the location. You can spend the day resting and taking in the magnificent view of defined snow peaks and hills around Hile Bhanjhyang at 3,720m. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 7: Trek from Hille Bhanjyang to Nosyampati |3,631 M|, 6/7 hrs

Today we have to walk ascending and descending trails on multiple occasions. At first, we will walk through the mixed forest towards the crest at Chang Samarphu. Then we will climb steeply up to the hillock then walk towards another crest with pleasant views. Overnight camping at Nosyampati.

Day 8: Trek from Nosyampati to Panch Pokhari |4,010 M|, 7-8 Hrs

On this day, we have to walk on a steep trail from Nosyampati towards Lauribina Bhanjyang. From here you have to walk for around an hour to reach Panch Pokhari. Panch Pokhari is the group of five lakes situated in the highest altitude. From here you will have the best view of Himalayan massifs of Gauri Shankar (7134m), Jugal Himal (6535m) and Dorje Lakpa (6966m).  The view and surrounding here are so lovely with few greeneries and clear lakes.

Day 9: Trek from Panchpokhari to Mahathang |3,805 M|, 6-7 Hrs

The trail from Panch Pokhari to Mahathang has its own ups and downs full of astonishing scenic beauty. Mahathang at 3,805m is reached after a long tiring walk which has an old Tibetan Refugee Camp and also Chhandy Gomba. You stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 10: Trek from Mahathang to Temathang |2,180 M|, 5-6 hrs

Today, we will descend along the bank of Nyasam Khola towards Temathang. Temathang is a local small Sherpa Village full of culture and hospitality. On reaching Temathang, you can visit around the villages and have the local meal of Sherpa people. You can also rest and acclimatize yourself to the climate. Overnight in Temathang.

Day 11: Trek from Temathang to Ambakharka |2,350 M|, 5-6 hrs

Following an upward trail through rhododendron, fir and pine forests, you trek to reach Ambakharka from Temathang. On the way, you will pass the beautiful village of Nimadui and from here you have to cross Nyasam Khola. After walking for around an hour, you will reach Ambakharka.

Day 12: Trek from Ambakharka to Bakhang Gompa| 2,400 M

On this day, you will pass through villages like Goludanda and Chakang towards Bakhang Gompa. On the way, you will see beautiful Tibetan monasteries with Tibetan lamas. You will also get the chance to understand the lifestyles of high regions of Nepal by visiting the cultural Sherpa villages.

Day 13: Drive from Bakhang Gompa and to Kathmandu |1,300 M| 7-8 hrs

Today, we will return back to Kathmandu from Bakhang Gompa in our private jeep. You will see green hills, mountains and beautiful rivers along the way to Kathmandu. After checking in at a hotel, you can either rest or roam the streets of Thamel and shop for souvenirs.

Day 14: Departure

After spending 12 days in Nepal, it is time to end the Jugal Himal trek and bid farewell to Nepal. You can further visit Nepal anytime in the future if you enjoyed this trek.
