In this tour, you will be going to some of the most culturally significant places in Bhutan. The tour begins in Kathmandu from where you take a flight to Paro Airport, Bhutan. The tour then takes you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, which depicts the tradition, culture, and art of the Bhutanese people. The charming ancient structures and the progressive modern structures together make this city a confluence of wonderful art and architecture. Another destination of the tour is the former seat of Wangchuk Dynasty in Trongsa, which is situated in the center of Bhutan. This small town located on the face of a ridge is a junction of east-west highway and the majority of people living here are from Tibetan descent. Here, you visit the Trongsa Palace, also known as the Tower of Trongsa, where you can observe the artifacts of the Bhutanese history. The Cultural Tour also takes you to Bumthang, a place of great historical importance as it houses plenty of temples, shrines, and monasteries and consists of 4 valleys—Choekhor, Chumey, Tang, and Ura. You take a direct flight to Bhutan, flying over the Himalayas and the breathtaking sceneries. As you land in Paro Airport, you will be welcomed by our team in Bhutan who will then drive you to Thimpu, the Bhutanese capital. Overnight in Thimphu.

Today you spend the whole day sightseeing in some of the prominent places in Thimphu. You visit the famous Thimphu Memorial Chorten, which was built in 1974 in the memory of the third King of Bhutan. You also visit the oldest temple in Thimphu, Changangkha Lhakhang, which was built in the 12th century by Lama Phajo Drukgom Shigpo. You can also visit the Folk Heritage Museum which showcases the past and the present way of life of the Bhutanese people. Overnight in Thimphu.

The drive from Thimphu to Trongsa is a beautiful way to take in Bhutan’s natural beauty as you will be passing along misty hills overlooking deep rivers and snow-clad mountains. This drive will take you to Dochu La Pass (3050m) which is an amazing vantage point to get a good view of the Eastern side of the Bhutan Himalayas. After spending some time at the pass, you will drive through Wangdue Phodrang and several other Bhutanese settlements to arrive at another pass, Pele La (3390m), from where Mt. Jomolhari (7326m) shines brilliantly at you. Large chortens and prayer flags can be found in abundance in this region as you pass through the villages of Chendebji, Sephu, and Rukubji. There are few attractions here in Trongsa, including the Tower of Trongsa which is a museum with two temples in its vicinity. The museum showcases artifacts of the cultures and traditions unique to Bhutan and is dedicated to the Wangchuk Dynasty who have been in reign since the early 1900s. The biggest tower is a five story circular one with two more small towers located further downhill. The Trongsa Dzong fortress which you will also visit is the largest and the most beautifully located Dzong as it sits on a cliff above Mangde Chu River. Overnight in Trongsa

Trongsa to Bumthang is a beautiful ride across Yotong La (3551m) and a gradual descent into the Chumey valley below. Through lush green hills with incredible misty mountains, you will make your way through the villages of Prakar and Zugney to reach Bumthang. Situated by many monasteries, Bumthang is known as the spiritual and cultural heartland of Bhutan. Overnight in Bumthang.

Today you will visit some of the many monasteries that surround Bumthang. Tamshin, Petsheling, Choekhor, Kurjey, Jampey, and Tharpaling are some of the monasteries that you will be visiting. You will also visit Wanduchoeling, which was used by the former kings as their summer residence. After the exploration, you will drive to Punakha passing Trongssa, Pele La (3390m), and Wangdue Phodrang. Overnight in Punakha.

Today you will visit Punakha Dzong in the morning and then drive back to Paro Airport via Thimphu. You will then take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu, ending the fantastic tour of mysticism, spirituality, peace, and calm. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Depending on your preference, you can either leave for your home or opt for other places to visit in Nepal. In case of departure, our representative will drop you at the airport.
