The Annapurna Circuit is one of the most famous trekking routes that lie in the Annapurna Region of Nepal. It takes you on a journey around the entire Annapurna massif. Cycling in this region is added adventure to the already existing one. Thrill, adrenaline, fear, and endurance test are all a part of this Annapurna Circuit Cycling Tour, and also is a test of a true mountain biking enthusiast. The route is a strenuous, technical track on steep hills that passes through many trekking trails.

The Annapurna Circuit Cycling Tour begins in Lamjung and goes through the many villages in Manang district that are situated on the foot of the majestic Annapurna massif. Crossing the high pass of Thorung La (5416m), you reach the holy site of Muktinath. You also witness the world’s deepest gorge carved out by the Kali Gandaki River. This region is well known for its cute tea houses and Thakali settlements. You will also find a lot of Tibetan-Buddhist settlements along the challenging cycling trails of Annapurna Circuit. You will see the local life, their culture, and tradition, and try to understand how their day to day life unfolds. You will ride through sub-tropical rainforests, deep gorges, valleys, and high altitude cold deserts. This tour ensures the viewing of some of the most beautiful mountains such as the Annapurna (8091m), Nilgiri (7061m), and Dhaulagiri (8167m), among others. This tour is recommended for people with high technical skill and is not for the newcomers of mountain biking. It can be undoubtedly said that this will the ride of your life.

Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival in Kathmandu

Namaste and Welcome to Nepal. Our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2:Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley

Today we will spend the day exploring the valley which is a mix of Hindu and Buddhist cultures that can clearly be seen in the architecture of the many temples and ancient monuments present in the valley. We will visit Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square among the seven UNESCO world heritage sites in the valley. We can also try some delicious Newa cuisines and gorge on the ever so famous Momo, Nepali version of a dumpling. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive on Private Jeep to Besisahar then biking trip to Jagat 1300m, Distance: 27 Km

After breakfast, we will make our way to Besisahar in Lamjung. A beautiful town nestled in between hills, it is situated right next to the Marsayangdi River. This is one of the hubs for the starting of many trekking journeys in this region. We will assemble our bikes in Besisahar and head towards Jagat on an off-road trail. This ride goes through lush green and hilly terrains. Overnight in Jagat.

Day 4: Biking trip from Jagat to Dharapani 1860m, Distance 24 Km

We will bike on a cliff above a deep gorge adorned with many small waterfalls as we make our way to Dharapani. The steep climb makes it one of the challenging rides on this journey. We will be riding along the Marsayangdi River, which is one of the swiftest flowing rivers of Nepal, to reach Dharapani. Overnight in Dharapani.

Day 5: Biking trip from Dharapani to Chame 2670m, Distance: 17 Km

Today’s ride is a challenging one as we climb steep hills and ride through jungles and many small clear streams. The rugged landscape is much loved by mountain bikers from all over the world. We will pass many small tea houses before reaching Chame. Overnight in Chame.

Day 6: Biking trip from Chame to Manang 3540m, Distance: 30 Km

Today we meet the jeep track so the road becomes much easy to ride on. There is a steady change in the scenery and the flora and fauna as we enter Manang. The jungle track finishes and opens up to an arid landscape with breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The tough landscape combined with the amazing view makes it the trail that tops them all. Overnight in Manang.

Day 7: Rest day in Manang

Today is a rest day in Manang in order to acclimatize. This region is home to the Manangi people who take part in community sports such as archery. They have beautiful homes that showcase their Buddhist inclination. We can see many horse riders here, and if lucky, we might be able to witness a race as well. We will also take the short hike to the surrounding villages. Overnight in Manang.

Day 8: Biking trip from Manang to Thorung-La Phedi 4450m, Distance: 19 Km

Today we will make our way to Thorung-La Phedi. It is mostly a slow climb to Yak Kharka from where you can witness the amazing views of the Annapurna massif. This track also requires you to carry your bikes for a certain time, after which the ride becomes easy. Overnight in Thorung-La Phedi.

Day 9: Push and biking trip from Thorung-La Phedi to Muktinath 3800m via Thorung-La Pass 5416m, Distance: 23 Km

Today we will cross the Thorung-La Pass (5416m) which will lead us to Muktinath. We will leave early in the morning and will have to push and carry our bikes up for a certain time. This is one of the most endurance testing portion of this entire tour, and also requires you to withstand cold and snow. As we reach the pass, we will make some beautiful photographs of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs as our backdrop. We ride downhill on the steep trails that bring the ultimate thrill in this tour. As we make our way to Muktinath, we will be getting some magnificent views of the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri (8167m), and Nilgiri (7061m). Overnight in Muktinath.

Day 10: Biking trip from Muktinath to Marpha 2670m via Lupra valley, Distance: 30 Km

We will visit the holy temple of Muktinath in the morning before heading down to Marpha via Lupra Valley. This ride goes through the foothills of Nilgiri (7061m), giving us some breathtaking views. Photographs don’t do justice to the beauty that this trail is. We will pass small settlements and reach Marpha which is famously known for its apple orchards and the apply by-products. Enjoy a delicious Thakali meal in Marpha. Overnight in Marpha.

Day 11: Biking trip from Marpha to Tatopani 1190m, Distance: 42 Km

From the beautiful village of Marpha, we will make our way to Tatopani, which is an easy ride. Riding above Kali Gandaki River, the deepest gorge in the world will fill us with thrill and excitement while going downhill along the picture-perfect sceneries. We can relax our strained muscles by taking a dip in the natural hot spring in Tatopani. Overnight in Tatopani.

Day 12: Biking trip from Tatopani to Beni 1000m, Distance: 18Km, then Drive to Pokhara

YFrom Tatopani, we will move to Pokhara from Beni following the Kali Gandaki River along small settlements situated in the lap of lush green hills. Today marks our last day of riding. In Pokhara, you can enjoy your evening in one of the many restaurants and pubs lined in the vibrant streets of Lakeside. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 13:Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu for 25 minutes

Today we fly over the beautiful town of Pokhara and reach Kathmandu, which is just a half an hour flight away. The flight allows us to have a serene view of the mountains which appear to be playing with the clouds. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final Departure

Our office representative will drop you at the airport today, for your scheduled flight back home.
