Description
Bardia Jungle Safari provides you with a unique jungle experience as it offers great views of some of the world’s exotic wildlife in one of the most diligently protected areas in Nepal. Apart from exploring the flora and fauna of the region through jungle safari, you can also enjoy bird watching, rafting, and cycling along with the exploration of Tharu culture.
The trip begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you take the flight to Nepalgunj which is the hottest place in Nepal. Then you take a 4-hour drive passing through Kohalpur to reach Bardia National Park. Bardia National Park was initially a royal hunting reserve and was granted the status of National Park in 1988 in order to preserve the ecosystem and protect the endangered species living inside the national park. With improved road conditions and better habitat management, Bardia National Park is becoming a tourist attraction in the western Terai. During the jungle safari, you come across small herds of elephants, rhinoceros, and many other wild animals. The jungle is home to many other endangered species such as Bengal Tiger, swamp deer, blackbuck, Gharial, marsh-mugger, hog deer, grey Langur, leopard, and many more. Other than jungle exploration, you can also visit the crocodile breeding center, elephant breeding center, and enjoy a raft ride in Geruwa River. Right beside the crocodile breeding center, there is a Tharu museum which is worth a look. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu
The trip begins with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Our company representative will welcome you at the airport from where you will be transferred to the hotel. After a short rest at the hotel, you can explore the streets of Thamel or go shopping. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu-Nepalgunj (1 Hr)
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport to catch the short flight to Nepalgunj. You fly over the hills and the plains before landing in Nepalgunj airport. A jeep from the hotel will come to pick you up at the airport. In the afternoon, the guide will take you to the nearby markets and even at the border of Nepal and India. Then you return to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 03: Drive Bardia National Park via Kohalpur (4 Hrs)
Today, you make your way to Bardia National Park via Kohalpur. Driving on a picturesque highway which later goes through the national park, you reach your resort in Bardia National Park. Later, you take a nature walk and explore the surroundings. You can go for jungle safari in a jeep around evening, which is the ideal time to spot some of the rare animals like the Bengal tiger. You will also reach several Tharu villages during the safari which have been turned into neat home-stays. After dinner, the local Tharu group performs the traditional Tharu dance for you and other groups. Overnight in Bardia National Park.

Day 04: Full day exploration of Bardia National Park, drive back to Nepalgunj
You can go for jungle safari again as the national park area is vast to be explored in just one day. Enjoy the sightings of various exotic flora and fauna as you move through the verdant forest with some attractive grasslands. Rafting in the Geruwa River is another attraction as you can see Gharial and marsh-mugger crocodiles in the river. There is also a crocodile breeding center nearby where you can visit. Afterward, you drive back to Nepalgunj for the overnight stay.

Day 05: Fly back to Kathmandu
Take some rest in Nepalgunj and then you take the evening flight back to Kathmandu. Our company van will pick you up and take you to the hotel after your arrival in the capital. You can either rest at the hotel or enjoy at the bars in Thamel. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 06: Departure
After a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, our company representative will take you to the airport 3 hours before the flight schedule. Then you take your flight to your next destination.
