Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek
Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek, is popular, Rugged trek to the west of the Annapurna’s starting from Pokhara and following the Myagdi Khola to its source at the Chhonbardan Glacier, seventh highest mountain in the world is known as Dhaulagiri having s8000m peaks for climbing in the Himalayas.Dhaulagiri lies north-west of Pokhara culminating to its highest point at the eastern end. Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek/Around Dhaulagiri Trekking span the remote wilderness in the western Nepal. It is a demanding trail, that has a status of being precarious and rough around the edges. It is dedicated to the adventurous hearts and for the climbing teams. The magnificent white Dhaulagiri Mountain (8167m) and its glacial transverse offer exciting seceneries in this trek. In terms of its rise above local terrain where it rises to 700m over the Kali Gandaki George to the south east in about 30km of aerial distance so it is almost unique in the world
Encountering the waxy transverse and hanging into the rocky slopes, there is one hidden valley from Dhaulagiri Base Camp at the foot of the north face. When you trek up the side of the glacier and over the French Col to enter from that hidden valley you have option to climb the non-technical Dhampus peak (6060m).Heading through the hidden valleys of the Dhaulagiri round and the exciting valleys of the Kali Gandaki, the Dhaulagiri trek gears down at Jomsom. Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is an Adventurous and it means an Exploration of the wild nature. There we can see world’s deepest gorge. It is white in color so it has translate to white mountain and it is known as white mountain in the world.Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of amazing trek and it is quite difficult for climbers because of its circuit. Along the way there are spectacular views across to the Annapurnas and up into the arid steppes of Mustang.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Epic Adventures. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Epic Adventures display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to your hotel. Included meals:
DAY 02: Fly or drive to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft) (flight at extra cost): 30 minutes flight.
We take an early morning flight to Pokhara, or by tourist bus to the beautiful lake city and catch great views of the Himalayas from the right side of our airplane.Overnight at Pokhara. Included meals: B.L.
Day 03 : Trek to Sibang(1770m.)6 to 7 hrs. walk
We set off trekking,passing through several villages en route to the ridge-top settlement of Dharapani. We have lunch here,then continue our trek via Takam to Sibang(1770m).Stay overnight in Sibang. Included meals: B.L.D.
Day 04 : Trek to Naura Bhir(1450m.) 6 to 7 hrs.walk
Today we trek to the large village of Muri where we stay for lunch,before continuing our ascent of the Myagdi Khola valley to Naura Bhir(1450m).Stay overnight in Naura Bhir. Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 05 : Trek to Lapche Kharka(2000m.) 7 to 8 hrs. walk
We trek northwards,still following the Myagdi Khola, to the village of Baghara.We descend to the river before climb.Stay overnight in Lapche Kharka. Included meals: B.L.D.
Day 06: Trek to Sallaghari (2500m.) 6 to 7 hrs. walk
The trail continues climbing through forest to the open grazing area of Dobang. After lunch, continue to Sallaghari (2500m) where we make camp.Stay overnight in Sallaghari.Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 07: trek to Italian Base Camp(3660m.) 4 to 5 hrs. walk.
Today, we trek through a forested area and across moraine to reach the area known as the ‘Italian Basecamp’ (3660m) where we make our camp below the stupendous west face of Dhaulagiri.Overnight at Italian base camp. Included meals: B.L.D.
Day 08: Trek to Japanese Camp (4200m.) 3 to 4 hrs. walk
Continuing our ascent of the Myangdi Khola, we make the short but steep climb to our next camp known as ‘Japanese Camp’ or Chhonbardan Glacier Camp (4200m). There are great views of the Dhaulagiri peaks.bing again to the herders camp at Lapche Kharka(2000m).Stay overnight in Japanese Camp. Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 09: Rest day at Japanese Camp
We are now above 4,000 metres and our next camp will be at 4700meters so it is important that we include an acclimatization day prior to going higher.A good day for resting and catching up with the laundry. Stay overnight in Japanese Camp. Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 10 : Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp(4748m.) 7 to 8 hrs walk
Today,we trek across moraine of the Dhaulagiri West Icefall to reach Dhaulagiri Basecamp(4748m)which we should reach in time for lunch.We set up camp here in a fantastic location completely surrounded by Himalayan peaks.Stay overnight in Dhaulagiri Base Camp.Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 11 : Rest at Dhaulagiri Base Camp.
After our significant recent height gain, we take a rest day here to help with our acclimatization. Stay overnight in Dhaulagiri Base Camp.Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 12 : Trek to Hidden Valley(5120m,6 to7 hrs. Walk 9km)via French Pass(5360m)
An early start,crossing moraine to eventually reach a ridge that takes us up to the easy angled snow slopes leading to the French Pass(5360m).we cross the pass to reach the ‘Hidden Valley’behind Dhaulagiri where we make camp at 5120meters.Stay overnight in Hidden Valley. Day 13: Rest day at Hidden Valley
The Hidden Valley is a great place for a spot of exploration.This day also serves as a spare or contingency day in the case of delays up to this point. Stay overnight in Hidden Valley.Included meals:B.L.D.
.Day 14 : Trek to Yak Kharaka(3837m,8 to9 hrs. Walk 14km)via Dhampus Pass.
We climb back up to the level of the French Pass at the other end of the valley and then make the high transverse across to the slightly lower Dhampus Pass(5280m).Once over the pass,we descend steeply to our camp at Yak Kharka(3827m).Stay overnight in Yak Kharaka.Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 15: Trek to Jomson(2736m,9km,4 to 5 hrs. walk)
Today we descend 1000metres to the floor of the Kali Gandaki Valley and the pretty village of Marpha(2667m) on the Annapurna Circuit. A short trek north then takes us to Jomsom(2736m).Stay overnight in jomson.Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 16: Fly to Pokhara fromJomsom(35mins flight)
We take the exciting flight to Pokhara, where we check in at a hotel and have the rest of the day to explore this pictures que lakeside town, with its spectacular Annapurna views.Stay overnight in Pokhara.Included meals:B.L.D.
Day 17: Pokhara to Kathmandu: 6 hrs drive
After breakfast, we start our drive back to Kathmandu. It will be better to sit on the left side of the bus to enjoy the scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted to our hotel and we spend a leisurely afternoon, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, in the evening, there will be dinner and Cultural show hosted by Epic Adventures. Included meals:B.D.
Day 18: Farewell Friend
We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organise the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Epic Adventures will take you to the airport. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal. Included meals:B
